Welcome Athens County Residents
Athens is a beautiful county in the heart of Ohio’s Appalachia. One of the requirement to get on the ballot is we must get 10% of the voters of the last governors race – or approximately 418,00 signatures. However, those must come from at least 44 counties with at least 5% of their voters.
For Athens County to be a full partner in the Abolition of Taxes on Real Property amendment we need to collect at least 954 quality signatures. Therefore, the goal for Athens is to collect 2,862 signatures (15%).
We will use the chart below to track your progress based on the 8% and 15% numbers, because some signatures will not count.
